Content Introduction
This book is part of the series *Chinese Traditional Classic Wellness Techniques* (Chinese-English bilingual edition). The *Shenqi Xiaonan Five Elements Exercise* is a simple mind-body exercise routine composed of five traditional Chinese wellness movements. It embodies natural laws and principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), such as the Five Elements, Five Seasons, and Five Organs. The book provides a detailed explanation of the origins, theoretical foundation, characteristics and essentials, operational techniques, applications, and meridian diagrams related to this exercise. Designed to suit the lively, active, and curious nature of children aged 7-12, it helps alleviate study-related stress and improve concentration. This exercise was developed by the Tai Chi Health Center of Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, featuring a brisk rhythm, fluid and expansive movements, a balance of firmness and gentleness, and a full, rounded style.

Author Introduction
The chief editor, Shen Xiaodong, is a physician at the outpatient department of the Shanghai Qigong Research Institute. After graduating with a master’s degree in wellness and rehabilitation from Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Shen has been engaged in qigong research, clinical practice, and teaching at the institute. In clinical practice, Shen uses a combination of tuina (Chinese therapeutic massage) and qigong to treat various chronic diseases and certain complex conditions. Additionally, Shen is involved in training and teaching programs such as the *Huichun Gong* (Rejuvenation Exercise) and the *Shenqi Xiaonan Five Elements Exercise*. Notably, the *Shenqi Xiaonan Five Elements Exercise*, refined and created from traditional classic wellness movements, has been introduced to several primary schools, proving highly beneficial for the physical fitness and health of young students.
